Kontaktade Thomas Fawcett ang. deras havremalt.
Dear Mikael,
Thank you for your enquiry. I think it is fair to say that our Oat Malt has less gluten in it than the barley and wheat equivalent, but we can’t say
That it is “gluten free”. The definition of “gluten free” varies slightly between different countries, and I know that some brewers in the UK have
played around with recipes including the use of Sorghum Malt ( which is gluten free ). Their resulting beer has been sold as gluten free, and presumably
they have had it analysed in order to make that claim, but there have also been many problems brewing with sorghum.
Unfortunately we no longer make sorghum malt.
Therefore you might be able to use a lot of Oat malt in the grist, and the resulting beer may analyse for low enough levels of gluten to qualify as gluten free
but I couldn’t guarantee anything. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful, but good luck with whatever you decide.
Yours sincerely,
Brian Hickman.
